'Vivan Sundaram is one of the few consistently conceptualist artists of his generation in India, having gravitated from his accomplished practice as a painter in the early 1990s towards working with assemblage, photography, video and installation. In this mode of work he is joined by a constellation of artist-colleagues and comrades including Nalini Malani, Navjot Altaf and the late Rummana Hussain.
