This is the catalogue of Wei Dong’s solo exhibition at the Fundacao Oriente in Macau. As in his previous paintings, Wei Dong has created a traditional setting for his players who come from different periods of Chinese history. The quiet landscapes painted in the manner of old masters make a great contrast with the size, costumes, and the chaotic arrangement of his figures. This can be read as the artist’s experience and interpretation of the new, modernised China. A biography of the artist is included.
本圖錄刊載了魏東在澳門東方基金會畫廊舉辦個展的作品。他在本系列沿用其一貫的表現手法，把中國歷朝人物放在傳統的背景之中。他以傳統大師的風格繪成靜態的山水背景，與畫中人物的體型、衣飾和紛亂的布局形成了鮮明的對比。這種處理手法也可理解為畫家對現代化新中國的個人觀感和詮釋。本圖錄亦載有藝術家的簡歷。
