This is the catalogue for the exhibition ‘Luis Chan: Urban Geography’ held at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Store in Taipei in 1993. Paintings presented here were done over a period of five decades, from the 1940s to the 1980s. They offer a retrospective study of Chan’s artistic development through a wide-ranging body of work which includes oil, acrylic and watercolour paintings of figures, landscapes and abstract images. It also features articles written by scholars and curators on the art of Luis Chan. Biographical information of the artist is included.
