Catalogue to travelling exhibition of Filipino art. Faith + the City Opened on October 2000 at the Earl Lu Gallery in Singapore, followed by ABN AMRO House and Valentine Willie Fine Art in Malaysia. Works by various Filipino artists are shown together dealing with different aspects of contemporary life in 'the concrete jungle' Manila. The works are subdivided into three areas, preceeded by an introductory essay (by different writers) for each grouping; religious iconographic symbolism, the physical conditions of the Manila landscape (inc. depictions of urban public squalor), and a piece of prose describing 15 minutes of a typical day in the city. Includes short biographical information on the artists.
