In October 1997, Vu Dan Tan and Natasha Kraevskaia were invited to be the representatives for the 12th Asian International Art Exhibition in Macau. The couple was required to handle the selection and transportation of the artworks within a month due to the late notice.
Natasha, who was the curator of the project, aimed to represent in the exhibition the various strands of development in the contemporary art scene in Vietnam. At the end she chose to work with the artists who had been in close connection with Salon Natasha: Do Minh Tam, Le Hong Thai, Mai Chi Thanh, Tran Thieu Quang, Tran Nguyen Hieu, Ta Thanh Thuy, Truong Tan, Eric Leroux, Maritta Nurmi and Vu Dan Tan.
Following the exhibition, Vu Dan Tan, who wished to stay aloof from any official or managerial duties, passed on all the contact details of the national committees of the Federation of Asian Artists to Nguyen Xuan Thiep, artist and vice-director of Vietnam Fine Art Museum, for any future Asian International Art Exhibition.
