H'mong Women Postcard

A postcard with an image of Dinh Thi Tham Poong's painting H'Mong Women (Phu nu H'Mong). The postcard was printed by Salon Natasha.

Through the exhibition 'Emigration', Dinh Thi Tham Poong, a young and still unknown artist in 1998, drew attention to the position of ethnic minorities in Vietnam's rapidly modernizing society. In her works, Dinh Thi Tham Poong, herself of ethnic Thai descent, shows the uneasy ‘emigration’ of one’s mental and emotional self from a rural structure of life to a more urbanized and dynamic society. Her paintings carry the strength and beauty of survival, pride, memory, grief and tenderness.
