Context
This work was produced for the exhibition 'Recent Works by K.G. Subramanyan 2009', organised by the Seagull Foundation for the Arts in Kolkata. The exhibited artworks were reproduced as facsimiles in a limited edition of 300 sketchbooks, and the proceeding from the sale of the sketchbooks were used for fundraising for the Foundation.
