'My concern is about the moment in street when people are passing by, about the individual body secret language that often has been ignored, or has been blurred by the automatic focus function of an impact camera in social space. These components of ambiguity, crossing and suspicion build up the tension, and the soundtrack using fast translation software to deconstruct SNOOP DOGGY DOGG’s lyrics and music place people in a kind of paranoid state. By stretching the time ten times, the trivial details of our behaviour and our unconscious body language are gradually revealed. The double stretch – time and sound – evolves gradually into a complicated psychological process, disturbing kind of nightmare.'  (artist statement)

'Huang Xiaopeng's video work Murder Is A Situation is based on his first trip return to his birthplace, Shanxi, after more than 40 years. Under his lens, the streets of Shanxi seem so alien, absurd and bizarre. Like his other video works, Huang Xiaopeng always takes the details which he observed from the outside world, completely modified, re-organized into a new terminology with re-definition of the space.' 「我所關注的是人們在街上擦肩而過的瞬間，個體在社會空間中往往被忽略或被相機的自動調焦功能虛掉的身體秘語。正是這些多義、交叉、可疑和曖昧的成分構成的張力，和利用快譯軟件對SNOOP DOGGY DOGG歌詞音樂解構的背景聲音, 使所有人物處於一種共同的妄想之中。拉長十倍的時間使存在於我們日常生活中微不足道的細節和潛意識肢體語言逐漸顯露。拉長的時間使影像和背景聲音演變成錯綜複雜的心理過程，儘管它可能是夢魘般和令人煩擾的。」（藝術家作品自述）
