'Some days after Indira’s marriage, Amrita painted Siesta, depicting a languorous woman stretched out on a bed in the open air. This was in the manner of Rajput painting, a direction she would pursue in the years to come. Amrita at Lake Balaton after her own marriage in 1938, 'returns,' in a dream sequence, to fulfill the moment of desire she captured from the bride of 1937.'
