'Singapore Contemporary Artists Series: Lee Wen: Lucid Dreams in the Reverie of the Real is a richly illustrated publication that charts the wide oeuvre of one of Singapore's most internationally recognised artists. Motivated by a strong conviction of justice and idealism, Lee Wen has constantly teased out complex questions about the self in relation to authority and society. Best known for his Yellow Man series of works, Lee is also one of the pioneers of performance art in Singapore, and this publication features many of his iconic performances as well as rarely seen installation works.

Echoing the experimental and playful spirit of Lee Wen's practice, five writers have also collaborated to produce a series of interconnecting, dialogic texts — a textual conversations that places the 'body' or the multidisciplinary artist on the examination table for scrutiny. Exhibition curator, Khairuddin Hori, contributes an essay that contextualises Lee's art practice and development in Singapore.' (Back cover)
