This is the catalogue for Lau Yan-tsun’s solo exhibition at Grotto Fine Art (Hong Kong) in 2001. The characteristic feature of Lau’s paintings is found in his layering and juxtaposition of Chinese calligraphy and photocopied images. In the works presented here (created in the period 1996-2001), Lau continues to explore the relationship between visual and verbal elements and originals and copies. This publication includes an introduction written by and a conversation/interview with the artist. Biographical information of Lau Yan-tsun is provided.
