The Ju Ming Sculpture Exhibition in Times Square Hong Kong, showcases works from the celebrated 'Taichi' and 'Living World' Series. 'The popularity of Ju Ming's art today, especially its success among the Chinese audience traditionally less sympathetic to modern art, suggests that Ju Ming has filled in a cultural need, perhaps providing something inherently understood but unarticulated until his arrival. Compared to the new generation of young stars whose success depend on their critical and cultural sophistication, Ju Ming's art is decidedly not intellectural and non polemical. What has made him successful is the populist nature of his work, appearing at a time when the Chinese art world was seeking an artistic personality such as his.' - extracted from essay by Johnson Chang.
