Published in conjunction with 'Chinese Bible 1949-2009', Yang Zhichao's solo exhibition held at 10 Chancery Lane Gallery, November to December 2011. In this catalogue, a selection of personal writings from 3,000 diaries - collected from second-hand shops in three-year time - are showcased, reconstructing China's history through a constellation of private thoughts spanning from 1949 to 1999, a half century during China's radical transformation. Also featured are the artist's performance works, including Planting Grass (2000), Hide (2002) and Iron (2000).
