This folder contains early documentation of the National Art Gallery's inception, including meeting minutes and blueprints, dated between 1969 and 1983. The National Art Gallery (NAG) Pakistan is the country's first institutional gallery for visual arts. Its founding committee was led by Zubeida Agha as the Executive Director, who was quoted to have donated many artworks from her personal collection as well as that of the Contemporary Art Gallery to form the core of the national collection. Press records state this to be over 400 works. The folder also includes documentation of Agha's research trip in 1970 to the United States and Japan on a UNESCO fellowship, which was used to inform how the museum would be designed, run and what programmes it would host, in order to bring it to par with international standards.
