In September 1979, Ahmed Parvez was critically ill at Anklesaria Hospital in Karachi, Pakistan. Ali Imam wrote to Hamid Akhund, Director of Culture at Government of Sind, to seek possible financial assistance and medical advice to Parvez’s hardship on 12 September.

Imam also made an appeal to some other government officials for their immediate attention to this matter on the same day. They include Begum Weqar-un-Nisa Noon, Minister of State for Cultural Affairs at Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Yousuf Jamal, Deputy Secretary of Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Major General (Rtd) Shahid Hamid, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, The Secretary (Education) of Government of Sind, The Military Secretary to H. E. The Governor of Sind, and The Director General of Pakistan National Council of Arts.
