Portrait of a girl by Hoang Hong Cam on 8 January, 1983. Hoang Hong Cam (1959-2011), son of the renowned Vietnamese artist Hoang Lap Ngon (1910-2006), was a graduand from the Hanoi Industrial Fine Arts College (1983). He had since then developed a semi-naive style in his art, and is also known for his series of self-portraits.

The portrait belongs to a sketchbook which includes a series of impromptu portrait-sketches made by different artists in Vu Dan Tan's studio from 1983 to 1984. It features portraits of regular visitors to the studio, who were often Tan and Natasha Kraevskaia's acquaintances.

Most of the drawings from the sketchbook were produced by artists Dang Duong Bang, Do Phan, Hoang Lap Ngon, Hoang Hong Cam and Phan Thi Thu Ha.
