Press release of Gerardo Tan's solo exhibition 'Instructions' titled 'The Do-It-Yourself/Done-It-Myself Art of Gerardo Tan' written by Roberto Chabet.
The exhibition was curated by Roberto Chabet at Finale Art Gallery, SM Megamall from 26 July to 5 August 2001. It features six large, near monochrome, near blank, near identical metallic paintings and a blow up of a set of cook book-like instructions and illustrations on how to make the paintings. The methods and procedures are derived from an artist book by Rudolf Stingel.
