Notes on Roberto Chabet's An Environmental Work, titled 'Notes on the Exhibition Environmental Sculpture,' written by Ray Albano.
An Environmental Work is one of Chabet's earliest installations using plywood. The work was exhibited under the same title at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Main Gallery from 14 - 25 November 1972. It is made from rotating pale blue plywood planks, suspended from pivots on the ceiling and lit with various coloured spotlights.
Albano wrote, 'The single work combines both the properties of sculpture and theatre, occupying the whole gallery space, with the entrance and end rooms serving as vantage points for depth and 'breathing space.''
