This document is a manuscript on the basis of which artist K.G. Subramanyan delivered a lecture in Lucknow College of Art, Lucknow, in 1965.
The text was subsequently translated into Hindi and published in Kalpana, Hyderabad, in 1966. The English version of the text was published in Nandan art magazine, published by Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati, Santiniketan, in March 1985.
