Manuscript written by artist K.G. Subramanyan, of which the text was subsequently published as an essay in Smarnika, U.P. Lalit Kala Akademi, Lucknow, in 1971.
The text was also included in K.G. Subramanyan's Moving Focus: Essays on Indian Art that was compiled by Gulammoahmmed Sheikh, and was published by Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, in 1978.
K.G. Subramanyan had previously written another similar paper titled 'Our Art Tradition: Its Many Faces', which was delivered as a lecture for the 'Radhakamal Mukherjee Commemoration' series organised by U.P. Lalit Kala Akademi, Lucknow, in 1971.
