'In the real life, it’s rare that somebody could obtain confidence and happiness they once have from traditional culture. With the rapid development in modern technology and rapid transmitting of information, people start to have all kinds of over-inflated desires. The ladders function as the means to climb up to reach the goals, but there is no way to satisfy mankind’s desires and fantasies. The ladders are built using mortise and tenon connection, which grants them a strong sense of primitiveness as if there were hand made. The glass containers and the porcelain items on the ladders are transparent and fragile. They are integrated with other items that are commonly seen and used in everyday life, thus creating a visual effect of conflict and tension. Meanwhile, when the substances in the glass container deplete naturally, the different time spanned in different containers create a strong sense of contradiction in time, which reflects personal mentality in this “Great Leap Forward” era.'
