But Now I Manufacture Hate, Every Single Day (Machete 6), 但是現在我製造黑特,每一天(刀六)
'The work But Now I Manufacture Hate, Every Single Day was first shown in the exhibition "Similarities and Differences" in OX House, Macau, in May 2011. How a daily tool object can be transforming into another dimension, and associated with a slaughterhouse? Through my researching of the history of OX House and its relationship with PRD, the using of the machetes came as a natural way to realize my work. Is Marxism still right in today's China? Maybe it is... In a world where economy is everything and everything is economic, the Adam Smith’s capitalism — without its human side — is turning everything into lethal elements: house, furniture, cloth, toys, even food, water and air...Today, the daily manufacturing process not only manufactures massive exporting materials like Kitchen knifes — famous export goods from Guangdong province, but manufactures as well through education and mass media human emotions like "love" and "hate", echoing Aldous Huxley’s prediction in his famous book Brave New World 80 years ago. When "hate", according to a code-mixing phonetic transposition, is translated into "Heite" (黑特), literally meaning "black special", it sounds like a fictional brand of a knife product company. As knife has become a highly dangerous weapon in the society we live in, the Government demanding everyone who wants to purchase a knife or a machete to show their ID card, is transforming every individual into a potential killer... Guangzhou is not only the biggest export consuming goods wholesale market in the world today; it is as well the main factory of the world manufacture industry. How to make full use of these 'site' conditions and the environment, and the focus on the relationship between the invisible human soul and daily life object that relates to it, is the main subject of my work.'
