Context

The work consisted of 128 pieces of paintings, and each was assigned with a sequence number. Materials used in the painting include soil, gentian violet, traditional Chinese medicine, salt, and blood. From 1996 to 2000, the work had been displayed for several times in different locations in Lanzhou, where the paintings were mounted on objects such as railings of the streets and vitrines of public newspaper boards.
