This is the catalogue for Liao Shiuo-Ping’s retrospective exhibition at the Hong Kong Arts Centre in 2000. Liao is a master printmaker who had contributed a great deal in introducing the techniques of etching, silk-screening and lithography to the local art community during his short stay in Hong Kong in the 1970s. The paintings, prints and wooden relief presented here represent Liaos’ body of work produced from the beginning of his career in the 1960s to the late 1990s. The accompanying essays offer a retrospective look at his artistic journey. Biographical information and a bibliography on the art of Liao Shiou-Ping are also included.
