This is the catalogue for the Hong Kong Art Biennial Exhibition 2001.
The Hong Kong Art Biennial Exhibition dates from the Hong Kong Art Exhibition in 1962 when the Hong Kong Museum of Art was opened in City Hall. This year, for the first time, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department joined hands with the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and other local art organisations to present the Hong Kong Art Biennial in an unprecedented scale to make the Biennial a truly territory-wide festival.
Biographies of adjudicators and a "Time Chart of the Hong Kong Art Biennial Exhibitions (1975-2001)" are also included in this catalogue.
