Art & Space: From Sculpture to Installation is the first major exhibition of installation art in Hong Kong. As Oscar Ho, Guest Curator of the show, pointed out, there were "installations" in Hong Kong, with experiments even since 1970s and more active since late 1980s, yet these were not exactly installations, in that they were not site specific works which actively utilized their surrounding space. In this light, this show held in the HKUST campus offers Hong Kong artists, the first time so to speak, to create site-specific installations.
Artists' statements and biographies are included.
