Tran Chi Ly
I have gone and gone…
I’ve met people who have a “full house.” They forced me to think a lot; their images haunted me every night!
Writing about them is very difficult for me, so I just paint and do what is within my abilities, to talk about those simple lives, where there is sadness and happiness just as in others. Their life is still full of difficulty, they seem to suffer, but within them, they conceal an admirable will and desire to go further.

Nguyen Trong Loc
Painting is for me like an everyday activity, which eases my weariness and worries.
A common activity that expresses one’s mood, one’s feelings, which I experience every day: happy, sad, angry… That’s why my works are named after the days of the week, or of the month.

Where are so many of them going?
Life goes up then down… to not go is impossible, but to keep going is… weary… exhausting…
Morning, noon, afternoon, evening…
Day then night…again… the regulation of all time, usually just follows a circle…
Perhaps going in, going out is one lifetime.
