The Thirteen Artists Awards began as a curatorial project of the Cultural Center of the Philippines Museum under its first director, Roberto Chabet, and is held triennially. It recognises young, promising Filipino artists who demonstrate the use of fresh visual language, innovative solutions to artistic problems, and sustained creative output.
For the 2012 edition (held from October 2012 to February 2013), Pandy Aviado, Agnes Arellano, Elmer Borlongan, and Ringo Bunoan are the jurors, and Gary-Ross Pastrana acts as the trophy designer.
